Filmmakers of Tomorrow Scholarships
The Filmmakers of Tomorrow Scholarships were established in 2006 by the New England Film Academy and its Community Outreach Program. One of the highest priorities of the New England Film Academy is to expand and improve opportunities for the young aspiring filmmakers in Maine. Beginning with the class of 2006, the scholarship award is in the amount of $1,000. The focus of the Academy’s Community Outreach Program has always been, and continues to be, graduates of the Academy continuing their film education at institutions of higher learning.
Recipients will be chosen by the Scholarship Committee of the New England Film Academy. Recipients will be chosen from applications submitted by eligible students based on the following criteria:
a. Academic performance
b. Academic potential
c. Financial need
d. Body of work as a filmmaker
e. Community service
No one criterion is more important than another. The Scholarship Committee carefully weighs all aspects of a student’s application.
