Our Mission
As a non-profit corporation we will offer educational adult & youth programs to provide a hands-on learning experience in the exciting field of film production under the guidance of industry professionals.

Community youth outreach will come in the form of scholarships to both our summer programs and film school for our graduates who wish to continue on to a long-term education in filmmaking. Whether or not they choose to continue their filmmaking careers, all participants will learn many practical life lessons in a fun, creative, collaborative and supportive environment.

About Us
The New England Film Academy was founded in 2005 by Christopher Watkins, a local filmmaker from the Portland area. Chris along with our Board of Directors are dedicated to not only the success of the Academy but in expanding and improving opportunities for the young aspiring filmmakers in New England and introducing as many kids as possible to the exciting world of film production.
